My experience with Barcelona Design Tours

“Don’t think of us as guides. Think of us as friends for a day.” This is what you will read when you go to the website of Barcelona Design Tours.

So I took a tour with Suzanne and Brian, my 2 new friends for the day (and probably long after). We started the walk at hotel Omm, a 5-star hotel just blocks away from Gaudi’s masterpieces Casa Batllo and Casa Mila. This amazing hotel is designer’s heaven, especially when you start paying attention to the details. For example, the plates at the restaurant have writings or drawings made by the guests, some of them known artists.

After a short visit to the rooftop terrace, we went outside and started walking. I did not know what to expect from the tour because I had not told them my interests or preferences. But normally, when you book a tour with Barcelona Design tours, they completely adapt the itinerary to your preferences, which actually makes every tour “custom made”.

I live in Barcelona and know the area we visited on the tour, still, Brain and Suzanne showed me things and places I did not know about or hadn’t realized they were so unique. We went to shops, restaurants, hotels and art galleries. We strolled along the beautiful streets and avenues of the Eixample neighbourhood and talked about design, architecture, fashion,…

I had a good time and would take another tour with them, so they can show me more places and gems I did not know about!
